Snow and Ice Control Update – March 28, 2025

Snow and Ice Control UpdateTown of Ponoka snow and ice control crews are busy sanding and clearing snow on priority routes throughout the community today (Friday, March 28).

Crews are also sanding and clearing snow from sidewalks adjacent to Town-owned properties and on walking trails in Town parks and throughout the trail system. 

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and drive for winter conditions. Snow and ice control crews will continue to monitor intersections and roadways throughout the community and respond as needed.

To report an icy intersection, back alley or snow-covered sidewalk that may need attention, please submit an online service here. You can also phone 403-783-4431 where Town staff can help fill out the online form for you.

Please note that Town winter operations crews work in conjunction with the Alberta Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors, which is responsible for snow and ice control on Highways 2A and 53 in Ponoka. Inquiries related to snow and ice control on these roadways can be directed to their contractor Main Roads at 1-877-875-3263.
