The Town’s Oil Collection Program is a free service that recycles oils and fluids at the Waste Transfer Station. Residents are asked to ensure there is no gas, water or antifreeze in the oil.
This recycling program accepts various oils and fluids including:
- Circulating oil
- Compressor oil
- Engine oil
- Gear oil
- Hydraulic oil
- Marine engine oil
- Power steering fluid
- Transmission fluid
To recycle used oil, citizens are asked to ensure the oil/fluid is in its original container (with a clear and readable label) and to place their containers on the pallets located next to the oil collection tank.
The Waste Transfer Station also accepts used oil containers and filters. Oil filters can be placed into the drum provided.
The Waste Transfer Station also collects used motor oil and electronics as free services to citizens. For full details on how to recycle these items, please visit the E-waste Electronics Recycling Program page or the Household Hazardous Waste page.
