The general election was held on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Ponoka residents were able to vote for members of Town Council, which consists of one Mayor and six councillors.
All of these positions were open for election during the 2025 general municipal election.
Residents were also able to vote for Trustees for the following public and catholic school boards:

Voter Turnout
A total of 1327 voters cast ballots in the Town of Ponoka 2025 Municipal Election.
- 450 voters cast ballots during the Advance Vote;
- 52 voters cast ballots in the Institutional Votes;
- Five voters cast special ballots; and
- The remaining 820 people voted on Election Day.
There were 20 rejected ballots.
The total number of eligible voters in the Town of Ponoka based on the Permanent Elector List on October 20 is approximately 5,463. That equates to a voter turnout rate of about 24 per cent in the 2025 Municipal Election.

Register of Candidates
The Register of Candidates is a record of all candidates who have given notice to the Town of Ponoka Election Office that they intend to seek nomination for office in the next general election, as required by the Local Authorities Election Act.
The Town of Ponoka is required to maintain a register of candidates that have filed a Notice of Intent to Run and the register will be publicly available here on the Town’s website until December 31, 2025.
