The Town of Ponoka Waste Transfer Station collects household hazardous waste free of charge. This program accepts a number of hazardous waste materials, including:
- Aerosol cans
- Fertilizer
- Herbicide
- Household cleaners
- Paint cans
- Pesticide
To recycle hazardous household waste, citizens are asked to ensure the items are in the original container (with a clear and readable label) so that Town staff can verify the contents.
The Waste Transfer Station also collects used motor oil and electronics as free services to citizens. For full details on how to recycle these items, please visit the E-waste Electronics Recycling Program page or the Used Oil Collection Program page.
