Recycling

Recyclable materials placed in clear or blue transparent bags are picked up biweekly throughout the year. You can place as many bags of recyclable items as you wish at the curb on collection day.

You can view the Town’s 2024 Waste Collection Calendar for specific pick-up dates and the Zone map. Please have your recycling at the curb for waste pick up by 7 a.m. on your designated collection day.

How to Clean Recyclables

Did you know that all recyclables collected through the Town’s curbside program must be rinsed and cleaned to ensure they get recycled into new products instead of being sent to the landfill? To clean recyclable materials, please:

  • Clean all cans and foil;
  • Flatten cardboard boxes and box board. Remove all waxed paper, plastic, cellophane and plastic handles; and
  • Clean and remove labels and caps then crush plastic #1 to #7 containers.

What Can be Recycled?Recycling at the curb

For a full list of ‘Accepted’ items that can be recycled as part of the curbside waste collection program, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click the list.

Recycled items can be placed in clear or blue transparent bags at the curb on your collection day. Please do not place glass, styrofoam, plastic bags or lids (except recyclable plastic or tin can lids) in your recycling.

Deposit beverage containers (including milk cartons) can be taken to the local bottle depot for a full refund or disposed of through the curbside recycling program.
