Snow and Ice Control Update - Friday, January 17

Residential Snow Removal NoticeTown of Ponoka snow and ice control crews are conducting sanding, salting and clearing drifted snow where needed throughout the community today. Crews are also sanding, salting and clearing snow from sidewalks adjacent to Town-owned properties and on walking trails in Town parks and throughout the trail system.

Residential Snow Removal Continues in North End and Lucas Heights

Snow removal operations are continuing today in the North End (Zone 2).

Residential snow removal operations will move into Lucas Heights (Zone 1) next week (January 20-24), beginning with Priority Routes first, followed by residential streets.

Please note that changing weather conditions and new snowfall events can require crews to direct their attention back to priority routes and delay planned snow removal operations.

Watch for ‘No Parking’ Signs and Move Parked Vehicles

Please watch for ‘No Parking’ signs and move parked vehicles from roads when the signs are posted.

Removing your vehicle from the roadway when ‘No Parking’ signs are posted in advance of snow removal operations is a requirement under the Town’s Traffic Bylaw and can result in fines and towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense if needed.

Removing your vehicle from the road also helps crews conduct snow and ice control operations safely and more efficiently.

Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route to avoid snow and ice control equipment where possible.
