Residential Snow Removal Returns to Central District (Zone 3) for February 18 - 21
Residential snow removal operations will return to Central District (Zone 3) this week (February 18 – 21) beginning with Priority Routes first, followed by residential streets.
Snow removal operations will move to Lucas Heights (Zone 1) on Wednesday, February 19 due to waste collection in Central District on that day.
Please note that changing weather conditions and new snowfall events can require crews to direct their attention back to priority routes and delay planned snow removal operations. As a result, crews may not complete the entire zone and will return at a later date.
‘No Parking’ Signs
Please watch for ‘No Parking’ signs and move parked vehicles from roads when the signs are posted.
Removing your vehicle from the roadway when ‘No Parking’ signs are posted in advance of snow removal operations helps crews conduct snow removal more effectively and safely. It is also a requirement under the Town’s Traffic Bylaw and can result in fines and towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense if needed.

How to Report an Icy Intersection or Sidewalk
To report an icy intersection, sidewalk or back alley, please submit an online service request by clicking here. You can also phone 403-783-4431 where Town staff can help fill out the online form for you.
Please note that winter roads are always more slippery in frigid temperatures of -15 C and below.
The Town applies a sand mixture to winter roads to give drivers added traction. That sand mixture contains three per cent salt to keep the sand from clumping and to provide some initial melting to ensure the sand stays in place on the road. However, at temperatures below -15 C, salt loses its effectiveness.
While the sand does still offer some benefit at -15 C and below, drivers are urged to slow down and drive for the conditions.
