Ponoka Aquaplex Undergoes Facility Improvements on October 25
To allow for the installation of a new primary heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit, as well as extensive upgrades to the current HVAC system, the Ponoka Aquaplex will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, October 25. Regular hours at the Ponoka Aquaplex will resume on Wednesday, October 26.
“The current primary HVAC unit has reached the end of its lifecycle and the upgrades being made at the Ponoka Aquaplex will help control and regulate the air temperature and flow more efficiently throughout the facility. This will greatly improve the user experience and create an atmosphere for all to enjoy,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities.
The Ponoka Aquaplex HVAC system improvements align with Council’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan by maintaining and enhancing recreational amenities. This project was also approved in the Town of Ponoka 2022 Capital Budget.
