Rodeo Drive (Highway 53) Construction Update
The new
traffic lights at the 46 Street and Rodeo Drive (Highway 53) intersection in
Ponoka will be fully operational tomorrow (Friday, June 19). Motorists and
pedestrians are asked to please approach the intersection with caution and
follow the signal lights appropriately.
In the meantime, the lights at the intersection are currently flashing amber and red. Flashing amber lights indicate that motorists need to slow down and proceed with caution. The flashing red lights indicate that motorists must come to a complete stop and proceed when safe to do so.
Rodeo
Drive Improvements Underway
The Town of Ponoka has partnered
with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors to complete extensive
improvements along Rodeo Drive (Highway 53) which began last year.
Ongoing work includes:
- Installation of wayfinding signage; and
- Landscaping.
