Town of Ponoka Invites Citizens’ Input on the 2027 Annual Budget
As the Town of Ponoka begins planning for the 2027 Budget, Ponoka residents are being invited to give their input and ideas on what they would like to see in next year’s Town budget.
The Town is hosting ‘Conversations with Council’ events this summer where citizens will have the opportunity to chat with members of Council, ask questions and share their ideas on the Town’s annual budget.
The first ‘Conversations with Council’ event will be held at No Frills grocery store in Ponoka on Monday, June 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Future ‘Conversations with Council’ events can be found on the Town of Ponoka online engagement website at LetsTalkPonoka.ca/2027-Budget-Consultation and will also be announced on social media (Facebook and Instagram) @TownofPonoka.
Fill Out the Citizen Input Survey
The Town is also encouraging citizens to fill out a Citizen Input Survey, which invites residents to share their thoughts and suggestions on the top priorities they think are important for Town Council to consider in the upcoming budget.
Visit the Online Budget Open House
The Citizen Input Survey is available online at LetsTalkPonoka.caas part of a virtual Budget Open House being hosted by the Town. The online Open House will give residents the opportunity to learn more about the budget planning process, how funds are allocated, and answers Frequently Asked Questions about the budget.
Let’s Talk Ponoka is the Town of Ponoka’s online public engagement site where you can find updates and share your ideas on various Town projects and initiatives to help guide Town decision making.

Public Consultation is an Important
Part of the Budget Planning Process
“The annual public consultation is an important part of the Town’s budget planning process. Inviting community input helps Town Council can make informed and thoughtful decisions that better reflect the priorities and values of our citizens,” said Ponoka Mayor Kevin Ferguson.
The results of the Citizen Input Survey and public feedback received during the ‘Conversations with Council’ events will be summarized and presented to Town Council for careful review and consideration during the 2027 Budget deliberations on November 23 and 24. A summary of the citizen input received will also be shared with the public at LetsTalkPonoka.ca.
