How is Street Sweeping Completed?
Street sweeping in the Town of Ponoka is completed in a two-pass operation to effectively remove all the debris that has been collected along the roadways over winter.
Town crews will make a first pass, where the street sweeper will drive along the centre of the roadway sweeping debris inward toward the centre line and collecting the majority of the winter grit.
Crews will return to make a second pass at a later date to clear the remaining debris from the roadway. At that time, ‘No Parking’ signs will be placed along roadways (where appropriate) the day before street sweeping is scheduled on a particular street.
