Citizens are Advised to Use Caution Near the Battle River
Due to high river levels, some low-lying areas of the Battle River Valley Trail System and Dog Park are experiencing some minor flooding.
The public is advised to use the Battle River Valley Trail System and Dog Park with caution. Please stay on the walking paths and away from the riverbank in the river valley.
A high streamflow advisory issued by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas remains in effect for the Battle River. The advisory indicates that water levels in the Battle River and its tributaries have risen.
The Town of Ponoka will continue to actively monitor the river levels. If water levels continue to rise, the River Valley Trail System and Dog Park may be temporarily closed. Updates will be provided as necessary.
