In addition to the Economic Development Office, here is a list of organizations that offer various types of business assistance.

Business Link:

The Business Link is a one stop shopping hub hosted by the Alberta Government for business to access resources, tools and information on a variety of topics. They also offer low cost small business learning programs, and a free guest advisor program to offer professional expertise; speak with business management consultants, business coaches, lawyers, accountants, and financial representatives who volunteer their time to discuss your business concerns.

This Government of Canada Website is designed specifically for entrepreneurs offering services and information for those who wish to become entrepreneurs.

Community Futures
Community Futures
is a government funded organization that offers: small business loans, small business training, self employment programs, entrepreneurs with disabilities program, web video training program called goforth institute education for entrepreneurs. Ponoka is part of the East Parkland division.

Business Development Bank of Canada
The Business Development Bank of Canada offers a unique combination of financing (including venture capital) and consulting services; with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Solely dedicated to Canadian entrepreneurs, they have helped more than 29,000 businesses reach their full potential.

Alberta Business Family Institute
The Alberta Family Institute is hosted through the University of Alberta with campuses in Edmonton and Camrose. They offer programs, services, advice, support, networking and resources for family-owned businesses.

Information on Alberta business & industry including: an employer toolkit, labor market info and workforce partnerships.

Alberta Small Business Resources is a directory of business resources for new and established entrepreneurs.

Ponoka Chamber of Commerce
The Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce is a Local Business Network comprised of businesses and residents working together to promote business and economic growth in the Town and County of Ponoka.

Agriculture Financial Services Corporation
AFSC
has provided Alberta farmers with hail insurance for over 60 years, and has grown into a diverse Corporation with several core businesses: crop insurance, farm loans, commercial loans and farm income disaster assistance.
